Trust is hard earned but easily lost. A key skill in life is not only learning to trust others, but also forgiving those who may have made mistakes in the past and broken our trust.

Can you think of a situation where you needed to assume that someone had acted poorly but with good intentions? Can you remember any situations when you did not? What happened?

Why is it so important that people have trust in public institutions? What are the consequences for the institution or society as a whole when this does not happen?
